Ministry issue

Ministry issue after the re-establishment (1895): Seen in context, is the calling of Rev. Dirk Postma as first minister of the Reformed Church. The General Church Assembly in Rustenburg of the Dutch Reformed Church (the group of objectors/aggrieved who had broken away,) gives permission for members of the re-established Church to call their own minister. On February 11, 1859, more than 300 people joined the congregation. Rev. Postma, who was part of the entire re-establishment process, was called. Subsequently, eleven Church Council members, elders, and deacons were chosen and Rev. Postma gave his inaugural sermon.
