Re-establishment

Re-establishment: On 10 February 1859 a number of members gathered in Rustenburg and raised their objections. A group of men, among whom were elders PJW Schutte, Commandant Paul Kruger and SJ Kruger decided to give notice that they are resigning from the Reformed Church. These events led to the fact that on February 11, 1859, under the seringa tree, the Reformed Church was re-established. Initial congregations were established in 1859 in Rustenburg (Waterberg and Zoutpansberg), Potchefstroom, Pretoria, Lydenburg and Reddersburg. Congregations that were established in 1860 are Burgersdorp, Colesberg and Middelburg (CP).
