Theological Training

Theological Training: First Theological training began in 1859 with the equipping of ministers by Rev. Dirk Postma at his home. In 1869 a formal Theological School was started in Burgersdorp. It was later moved to Potchefstroom in 1904/1905. The theological training of African language-speaking students was started in Dube (Soweto) in 1956 and was moved to Temba in Hammanskraal in 1961. Due to the political system in South Africa, the Hammanskraal Theological School was established and theological training was given until 1994, after which it merged with the Theological School Potchefstroom.
