Women members

Women members: Since the founding of the Reformed Church, there have been women members who have assisted Church Councils and deaconry in every congregation in caring for members. In 1917 a formal association was started, the “Gereformeerde Sustersvereniging”. The woman also played a defining role in the evangelisation work in the congregations and community. In the more recent years, the role of the woman has been extended to other gifts: fundraising and catering, caring for children, the disabled, the elderly, the sick and lonely, literacy classes and many more. In 1988, women were granted the right to vote in the GKSA.
